We’re Not Just Teaching Tech. We’re Shaping Africa’s Digital Future.
Africa stands at the threshold of an enormous opportunity with the surge in tech innovation, yet many of its youth remain digitally voiceless. While the rest of the world races ahead, African communities are often left without the tools, without the fluency, and without the confidence to fully participate, let alone shape this new digital age.
It’s like living in a country where you don’t speak the language: you may be physically present, but your voice, your ideas, your agency? Silenced.
At TeknaLabs, we believe that must change. The future of Africa must be shaped by Africans, not inherited passively from the outside. We exist to close the gap between potential and participation. Our work is not just about skills, it’s about unlocking digital citizenship, digital creativity, and ultimately digital sovereignty.

Our Values
-
Access: Reaching youth wherever they are, with or without devices.
-
Confidence: Building digital self-belief. Not just technical skills.
-
Relevance: Real-world tools and tasks. Not just theory.
-
Growth: Lifelong learning pathways, not one-off training.

Our Why
Africa faces a silent crisis: a growing digital skills gap. While the rest of the world races forward, millions on the continent remain underprepared to participate meaningfully in the digital economy.

At TeknaLabs, we’re flipping the script...starting with the individual.
We don’t just teach you how to build tech solutions. We develop the core competencies needed to be confident in a tech driven world.
The skills learnt give our young people access to digital careers, a digital identity, and the many other digital opportunities in a digital economy.

Our Story
Founded by David Luboya-Mushila, TeknaLabs began as a response to the lack of preparation students had for tech and programming focused careers, but through local community workshops and initiatives we realized we cared more about solving the bigger and more particular issue of digital literacy as we realized the role digital skills plays in preparing young people for digital careers of the future and a digital world .
Now TeknaLabs functions as a partner to help fulfill the digital agendas of schools, NGOs and funders across the country, and soon a scalable platform where individuals can take charge of their digital education in a personal way. With roots in grassroots learning and eyes on Africa's future, TeknaLabs is building the digital agency of tomorrow, today.
